There are a great many techniques and products that can be used to create patterns on floors. Sometimes we use cement sprayed in patterns including keystone and tile. Other times we use paint and rags to make a faux style pattern. Acid stains and clear coats offer a wide range of effects. Usually we would be coating over a concrete floor or walkway.

Intricate geometrical patterns can resemble any tile, stone, or brick and may be applied with a pronounced texture or smooth and level with paint.

If you are considering an expensive flooring installation but can not justify the expenditure you should consider an applied textured floor finish. And include a possible painted floor mural or faux rug in the plan.
